It’s hard to believe that it’s been a year since we first met our sweet, sweet Lyla.  She has made this year so much better for us.  We were so worried about Marlie accepting a baby sister.  She loves her so much and Lyla loves Marlie so much.  It’s been so much fun watching them play with each other and now hug and kiss each other.  Sweet girls!

On the morning of her birth it snowed as we drove to the hospital and the high that day was 20 degrees.  Much like the weather we had today!  Late yesterday afternoon it started snowing.  The roads were icy and we got 2-3 inches.  James couldn’t make it to work so he got to celebrate Lyla’s birthday all day with us!!!  Marlie and I are still so sick but we did our best to have a fun day with Lyla.  We had cupcakes which she only ate a few bites of.  She’s going to be like me and prefer regular food as opposed to sweets.  Lyla also had her first taste of organic whole milk.  She loved it!!!  Of course, we had presents for Lyla.  Marlie had fun helping us pick them out and even more fun playing with them after Lyla opened them.  We had a great birthday celebration together!

Here are some things that Lyla is doing these days:

• walks everywhere
• gets into everything (toilet with lid closed, all our cabinets, dresser drawers….you name it and she’s in it)
• gives kisses all the time
• loves to read books and even has a few favorites
• eats all the time.  she usually eats more then marlie at dinner time.
• we think she calls marlie “na na na na)
• says, “mom” “dad” “hi” “night night” “dog” “duck”
• repeats sounds that marlie makes and laughs hysterically.

Needless to say, Lyla is keeping us busy.  We love every minute of it and our so thankful for her.  We have the best girls!
