Steelers Are Going To The SUPER BOWL

We are so excited to have our team heading to the super bowl again!!  My sisters, Erika & Annie, cousin, Alyssa, and our friend, Tyler came over tonight to cheer on the black & gold.  After we won we popped open some sparkling wine (saving the champagne for the super bowl win!) then we ran up and down our street waving our terrible towels and screaming.  I’m sure the neighbors loved that but we didn’t really care, ha!!

Warhol Style Marlie

I created this Warhol Style collage of one of my favorite pictures of Marlie. I’m thinking about getting it printed out to frame but am still testing the different color arrangements. Let me know what you think!

My 27th Birthday

I had a wonderful 27th birthday!!  I haven’t been around my entire family, on my birthday, for over 7 years so it was nice to have them around.  My mom cooked me my birthday dinner:  ham, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and fruit salad.  It was so yummy!!  Growing up my nanny always made me a homemade angel food cake with egg white icing so my mom made me one.  I LOVED it!!

We had two nice warm days in a row so we took Marlie took the playground and let her splash around in the puddles in her new froggy rain gear.

Predators vs. Penguins

preds penguins game My family came down to Nashville to watch the Pittsburgh Penguins take on the Nashville Predators.  The Predators had lost their last 5 games and the Penguins had only won one out their last 6.  It was a huge game for both teams.  After the 1st period, the Penguins were up 3-0.  The Predators came out strong and scored 5 unanswered points.  James, Marlie, Erika, & I left the game happy while Annie, Mom, & Dad weren’t so happy.  We all had a GREAT time though!!

Happy New Year

We rang in the new year in PA.  When we were growing up we use to eat at Pizza Hut and then going bowling on New Year’s Eve with our cousins and friends.  My sister, Annie, still carries on the tradition with all of her friends.  James, Marlie, & I joined in this year making it a table for 17 at Pizza Hut.  Marlie had so much fun her first time bowling.  James was showing her the different lanes and she kept cracking up at the pins falling over.  Every time we pushed the ball down the lane she tried to run after it.  I guess we’ll be taking her bowling again sometime soon!!

Christmas in PA

We drove to Berlin, PA bright and early the day after Christmas.  It was the worst trip we ever had driving there.  We drove through what seemed like a monsoon for 14 hours (it should have only taken around 10-11).  It was raining so hard that we had to pull over several times and sit at a rest area until it let up.  We were so glad to pull in to my parents house that night.  They were so surprised to see us.  They didn’t think we were driving up until the next day!

Marlie had so much fun playing with her second cousins, Kira & Reece.  We had a nice lunch with 30+ of our family and then ended the evening at my Aunt Char’s house for dinner & presents for the kiddos.  Marlie absolutely loved my cousin, Laura, and called her “Raura”.

Marlie had fun doing exercises with Aunt Erika, playing pianao with Aunt Annie (stevie wonder with her glasses on), peeking down the staircase with daddy, and playing with my friend, since pre-school, Heather.

Christmas Eve

christmas eve

We spent Christmas Eve at James’ parents house.  We had a delicious ham dinner with mashed potatoes, green been casserole, mac n cheese, rolls, and yummy desserts.

Marlie got to open presents before and after dinner.  She LOVED all her presents and had so much fun playing with them that it took a really long time to open them all.

After we got home we got into our new pj’s from grandmom and read The Night Before Christmas.  We were ready for Santa to come:)
