We've been searching for a new church all summer. Our old church was about 30 minutes away and we wanted to find something closer. It was such a huge church and we never really found our niche. We are very thankful for the friendships we had made there and hope to keep in touch with everyone.

We have been attending Western Hills Church of Christ for over a month now and are really enjoying it. It's less than 10 minutes from our house which is a huge plus!! We have gone to 2 Sunday night small group dinners/devos and everyone is so friendly. While I was struggling with my vertigo we had so many people that we had just met offer to help me with Marlie & bring us dinner........wow!! and just think, we're not even members there. they are just so welcoming and loving. scott mcdowell does a wonderful job preaching and loves the steelers too!! We will continue to pray that we find our church family.

They had their annual Fall Family Night tonight and it was so much fun. There was a wonderful chili dinner, trunk-or-treating, inflatables, petting zoo, bonfire, and hayride. Erika, Annie, & Alyssa joined us since they will be out of town on Halloween. Our neighbors came along too! Marlie & Samantha are buddies!! Marlie's grammie (my mom) bought Marlie's little butterfly costume for her and she won a prize for cutest infant costume. She won a target giftcard and tigger stuffed animal. We were thrilled!!

Today was a beautiful fall day in Nashville. The sun was shining and there was a nice breeze blowing all day. The temperature was in the mid 60's....perfect! We had our windows open all day and the fresh air felt great. Since Marlie and I haven't gotten out much this week we decided to take her for a walk to the playground. She's never gone down the slide before and we knew she'd love it. We tried several times this summer but the slide was always way too hot! We were right.....she LOVED it. She loved swinging with her daddy and wouldn't get in the infant swing after that, ha!

I also thoroughly enjoyed watching my Nittany Lions beat up on Michigan! That's right, we're undefeated. Next weekend is the biggest game of the season at Ohio State. You better believe we will be glued to the TV next Saturday night!!!!

We took Marlie to Gentry's Farm on Saturday. We had a great time going through the corn maze, walking on the nature trail, going on a hayride to see cows that say, "boo", and of course, picking pumpkins from the patch. It was 85 degrees while we were there so we were all sweated by the time we left. Who knew it would be so hot in October?

We ran into our friends, Clint, Ashley, Sloan, & Avery while we were there. We tried to get a picture of the 3 kids together in the wagon but Marlie was so hungry, tired, & hot and didn't want to cooperate. At least we tried! Marlie ended up taking a 3 hour nap that afternoon.

Vanderbilt Balance Clinic

I went to the Vanderbilt Balance Clinic this morning to figure out my vertigo. I have Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BVVP). BPPV is one of the most common disorders that can cause vertigo. It is characterized by brief episodes of mild to intense dizziness associated with specific changes in the position of your head. It most commonly occurs when you move your head in a certain direction, lie down from an upright position, turn over in bed or sit up in the morning. Moving your head to look up or look down also can bring about symptoms and you may also feel out of balance when standing or walking.

So, they did an hour long test to see which inner ear is causing the problem. I had to wear goggles that videoed my eye movement. It was really weird but I got to see what my eyes do when i'm dizzy. They rolled around in circles........so scary looking!! After the testing we found it's my right ear (which I already knew because I can't move my head to the right at all without getting dizzy). They did a 7 minute treatment that made me very dizzy and nauseous. They said I could feel this way for up to 48 hours, aaahhh!! I am not supposed to do anything for 7 days to trigger the dizziness so that's going to be hard. Then on the 7th day I am to test out everything and see if i feel any better. If not, then I'm going back in for another treatment. Pray that this treament worked!!!!

My wonderful mother in-law stayed with Marlie all day today, got me groceries, and cooked our dinner. She is coming back tomorrow to help be out again. I don't know what we would do without her!!!

I Hate Vertigo

So, i've been battling this vertigo thing for a week now. I've been to my family doctor twice and received the following medications: Valium, Zithromax, Meclizine, and even given a Cortizone shot. Why all these meds? I'm wondering the same thing!! None of them have seemed to do anything but make me tired and you know I can't be tired while taking care of a 13 month old!! Today, I went to see an Ear Nose Throat Specialist and got no answers. He checked my ears again........did a hearing test which I of course passed.......and told me now I need an ENG screening. I have no idea what this screening is but they can't fit me in until October 13. I hope and pray I'm not still feeling this way by then. I'm taking care of Marlie, by myself, every day while constantly being dizzy. This has been a very tough week so please pray that this Vertigo goes away sooner than later!!
