The Thompson family took a week long vacation to San Diego. We had a GREAT time! If only we could have stayed there longer. There is just to much to do in only a week.
We went to the Wild Animal Park which was so neat. It’s an expansive wildlife sanctuary that is home to more than 3,500 animals representing more than 400 species. The facility is used to breed endangered species in a naturalized habitat. There are so many animals to see there. We walked through the entire park and then took a Safari ride to see the animals roaming their natural habitats.
The zoo is home to more than 4,500 mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians and a world-class botanical garden. We were there for almost five hours and didn’t even get through the entire zoo. Marlie was exhausted and we were too. What an awesome zoo!
The highlight of our trip was definitely going to Sea World! My family hadn’t been to a Sea World in 17 years and James had never been there. It’s such a nice place to take your family and interact with the various sea life they have there. We saw the dolphin and shamu day shows and then stayed and saw the night shows! We couldn’t get enough of them. Marlie especially loved the “dol-pin” and “we-ales.” She came home with souvenir stuffed animals of each:)
My dad’s Great Aunt Karen & her husband Fred, and his Great Aunt Grace live in San Diego. We enjoyed a dinner at the Fish Market and Sea World with Karen & Fred and then a delicious breakfast with all of them. What a nice time!!
One of my friends growing up recently moved there and got married there as well. We had a very nice Italian dinner with them in Little Italy. It’s so much fun having friends all over the country.
We also went to Balboa Park, several beaches with Lo Jolla being our favorite, Hotel del Coronado, and stopped in Old Town to have some authentic Mexican only 15 miles from the border.
Between all of our pictures we had over 1500 so I’m just going to post a few of the favorites. All of my pictures are also located on the link to my pictures.
