We LOVE the Nashville Zoo

We spent a wonderful mother’s day at the zoo!!  It was perfect weather and not crowded at all.  There was a slight chance of rain so I guess no one wanted to venture out.  We got a family membership which was a great investment.  We had so much fun that we went back the following Sunday.  Marlie LOVES it!!   Her favorite animals so far are the Hyacinth Macaws, monkeys, giraffes, and the rainbow lorikeets.  When we leave the zoo Marlie puts her hands up and says, “no, no…….stop, stop, stop!!”  It’s so funny that she knows we’re leaving and she doesn’t want us too.

The Past 4 Months in a Nutshell

Since I’ve been a horrible blogger the past 4 months I’ll try to hit the highlights!

~ The Steelers WON their 6th Super Bowl!!

~ Mary, Prasad, & Nathan Abraham came to visit us!!

~ While the Abraham’s were visiting Amy & Emma drove from Huntsville so the kiddos could play together.

~ After having my Civic for over 7 years (it was a ‘99) James caved and bought me a new car!! We got a 2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor which we LOVE!!

~ James got me XM Satellite radio too. Can’t live without it now!!

~ We took Marlie to a lot of Nashville Predators Hockey Games. She gets so excited when we go to the games.

~ Grammie came from PA to visit us at the end of February and Marlie got very spoiled.

~ We got several inches of snow on March 1. Grammie was here and didn’t like that very much! She thought she was getting away from the snow.

~ Lipscomb hosted the ASUN basketball tournament and we got hooked after the first game. We went to all the rounds because Marlie loves the Bison mascot.

~ James’ high school friend, Kyle, game to Nashville for a visit.

~ Poppa came to visit in the middle of March, all the way from PA too!

~ Marlie learned to count to 10!!

~ Marlie says 4-6 word sentences now:) She talks non-stop and is so funny these days!

~ James, Erika, Becky, Annie, Alyssa, & I saw Butch Walker, in concert, at the Exit-In.

~ We spent Easter weekend in Centerville with James’ mom’s family!

~ Marlie loved the 3 egg hunts she had over that weekend.

~ Marlie and I flew to PA for a week long visit.

~ We got to visit with Nanny & Pappy, Grandma & Grandpa, visit high school friends, celebrate Patrick & Brenda’s wedding, and see all the cousins. It was a GREAT trip.

~ Marlie & Kira became best friends. We can’t wait to have Andrea, Josh, & Kira come visit us in July!

~ While in PA, Marlie had her first ice cream cone from the Ice Cream Station!!! Best place to get ice cream……..too bad it’s 650 miles from us.

~ Erika & Annie completed their first half-marathon if under 3 hours. We were all so proud of them!!

~ Marlie went swimming for her first time since last year. Still loves the water.

~ We celebrated Annie’s 20th birthday…….can’t believe she’s 20.

~ The Harpeth river flooded because we have had so much fun this spring. However, my flowers are beautiful because of all the rain we’ve gotten.

~ I had the best mother’s day with Marlie & James. I had breakfast in bed, went to the zoo, and got treated at Olive Garden. What a great day:)
