We got our first “big” snow of the winter on December 12, 2010. This is very early for Nashville. We were at James’ parents house for lunch and Sunday football when it started snowing. By the end of the first round of games it was really coming down and sticking so we decided we needed to head home. The road to our neighborhood has a lot of hills and gets very icy. We literally slid down the first hill and were so lucky we didn’t land in either side of the ditch. We turned into the first neighborhood and cut through the neighborhoods to get to ours. The snow was beautiful! We were so excited to see our Christmas decorations in snow. We immediately bundled up the girls and headed outside for a little sledding.
When we went to bed late that night we had well over two inches and it was still snowing. We ended up with close to three inches of snow and the roads were really icy. The road to our neighborhood (Newsome Station Road) made the news that day. Over 30 cars tried to get down the hill we slid down and couldn’t. They ended up parking their cars on the road and walking home. Needless to say, James couldn’t go to work so we did some more sledding and Marlie made her gingerbread house. Even though it’s not snow like I’m use to in PA it’s still fun the very few times it snows here!
